ALL CLEAR: Heavy traffic reported from DuPont to Lacey on northbound I-5

Heavy traffic is being reported on a 10-mile stretch of northbound Interstate 5 from DuPont to Lacey.

The state Department of Transportation said weekend travel is resulting in slowdowns and backs from milepost 119 to milepost 109.

Drivers are warned to avoid the area if possible.

UPDATE as of 8:55 p.m.

WSDOT reports that traffic is moving at a normal pace.


Overnight closures this week on SR 18 in Federal Way

Drivers on state Route 18 in Federal Way should be prepared for overnight closures this week as crews lift concrete bridge girders into place.

The eastbound lanes near Interstate 5 will shut down from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. tonight and Tuesday night.

A nine-mile detour will send traffic from southbound Interstate 5 to 54th Avenue East before continuing on to northbound I-5.

Crews will close westbound lanes from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights while construction on the $112 million project continues.

Soccer, concert will tie up Seattle-area traffic today

Here’s a traffic warning for today (July 20) from the Seattle Times:

Expect heavy traffic Wednesday night when thousands of people will be flocking to a soccer game at Century Link Field and a concert at Key Arena.

An expected 66,000 soccer fans will attend the 7 p.m. friendly where the Seattle Sounders will play Manchester United, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

And thousands of concert goers will be heading to Key Arena for the sold-out 7:30 p.m. Katy Perry show.

ALL CLEAR: Crash blocks lane of SR 512

A crash involving a travel trailer is blocking the right lane of westbound state Route 512 near 94th Street, the state DOT reports this morning.

The travel trailer rolled over in the incident.

Troopers and medical aid have responded.

A tow truck also has arrived.

UPDATE as of 9:20 a.m.: The crash has been cleared. There is a backup, however.


ALL CLEAR: Multi-vehicle collision blocking lane on eastbound SR 410 near Sumner

A collision involving several vehicles is blocking the left lane of eastbound state Route 410 near Sumner, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The 6:10 p.m. crash occurred at Route 410 and Traffic Avenue.

Washington State Patrol troopers and firefighters are on scene.

Traffic is backed up three miles to state Route 512, WSP reports.

UPDATE: All lanes are clear as of 6:50 p.m.


ALL CLEAR: 5-mile backup from I-5 collision

A two-car, two motorcycle collision on northbound I-5 has traffic backed up for five miles through Tacoma, according to the Washington Department of Transportation. The accident happened about noon at milepost 133, near downtown Tacoma. At last report traffic was back up all the way to 84th Street. Drivers should expect delays.

UPDATE at 1 p.m.: The crash has been cleared but the backups remain. DOT reports the traffic is dissipating.
