ALL CLEAR: Motorcycle crash blocking SR 512 at Portland Avenue in Parkland

A motorcycle crash is blocking eastbound state Route 512 at Portland Avenue in Parkland, the state Department of Transportation reports.

The collision happened at 4 p.m. Backups already extend two miles to Steele Street.

Washington State Patrol troopers are on scene.

    i have often wondered that if motorcyclist were required to wear highly visible reflective vest (like they were on highway construction sites) would motorcycle accidents and the serious injuries that result could be prevented,

    Hate to break it to you, but even if a motorcyclist is wearing a high-vis vest, cars still hit them. Drivers don’t see motorcycles, they look for larger vehicles. It’s the same fit that bicyclists have, start looking for motorcycles and bicycles next to you before turning and merging.
