UPDATE as of 12:05 p.m.: The crash has been cleared and the lanes reopened to traffic. The backup remains.
UPDATE as of 11:35 a.m.: Southbound drivers are backed up six miles; northbound drivers four miles and westbound drivers on SR 512 one mile.
UPDATE as of 10:55 a.m.: The Bridgeport Way crash has been cleared and no longer blocks the left lane of southbound I-5, the state DOT reports.
The Thorne Lane crash remains a problem, however.
UPDATE as of 10:40 a.m.: A second crash is blocking the left lane of southbound I-5 at Bridgeport Way.
The crash is adding to the congestion from the Thorne Lane wreck.
Traffic is now backed up two miles in both directions.

Traffic is backing up on Interstate 5 through Lakewood because of a crash this morning.
The left lane of southbound I-5 at Thorne Lane is completely blocked while the left lane of northbound I-5 is partially blocked, the state DOT reports. Southbound drivers are backed up for a mile.
The crash involved a light pole.
Troopers are on the scene. DOT crews are on their way.
Drivers should expect delays.
