ALL CLEAR: One-car crash slowing traffic near Tacoma Dome

A one-car collision on southbound Interstate 5 near the Tacoma Dome is blocking the left lane, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The 4 p.m. accident has caused four miles of backup to Fife.

UPDATE 4:33 p.m.

WSDOT reports that the lane is open but backups still extend above five miles to the King County line.


ALL CLEAR: 3-car crash blocks lane of I-5 in Lakewood

UPDATE as of 9:17 a.m.: The crash has been cleared and left lane reopened. Traffic is still backed up five miles.

UPDATE as of 9 a.m.: The backup is now five miles and growing. Troopers, firefighters and transportation crews are on the scene.

ORIGINAL POST: A three-car crash is blocking the left lane of northbound Interstate 5 near Berkeley Avenue in Lakewood this morning.

Troopers are on the scene, DOT reports.

Traffic is backed up three miles.



ALL CLEAR: Light pole down across southbound I-5 on-ramp in Tacoma

UPDATE as of 9:20 a.m.: The light pole has been cleared and the on-ramp has been reopened.

UPDATE as of 8:25 a.m.: The state DOT is reporting the on-ramp from westbound South 56th Street to southbound Interstate 5 is blocked because of a downed light pole.

Troopers are on the scene and DOT crews are en route.


We’re getting reports that a light pole is lying across the roadway on the South 56th Street on-ramp onto southbound Interstate 5.

According to reports, a car hit the light pole. No injuries have been reported.


ALL CLEAR:One-car crash slowing down drivers on SR 512

UPDATE as of 8:16 a.m.: The crash has been cleared and the left lane is now open. Drivers are backed up a mile.

UPDATE as of 8:05 a.m.: The left lane is now blocked by first responders. Drivers are getting by the crash using the right lane.


Traffic is heavy on eastbound State Route 512 this morning because of a one-car crash in the median, the state DOT reports.

Drivers should expect delays from Pacific Avenue to Portland Avenue.

Expect delays Saturday on 66th Avenue East in Puyallup area

Drivers using 66th Avenue East in Pierce County should expect delays for several hours Saturday.

Road crews will close the northbound lane of 66th Avenue East in the 4900 block to perform maintenance and landscaping work, Pierce County reports. The work zone is just south of the intersection of 66th Avenue and State Route 167  in the Puyallup area.

Traffic will be impacted from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Flaggers will be posted to help drivers through the work zone.

Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.


ALL CLEAR: Rolled over car blocks lane of SR 16 in Tacoma, traffic is backing up

A car has rolled over and is blocking the left lane of eastbound State Route 16 at Pearl Street in Tacoma.

Drivers are using the two right lanes to get by the crash, the state DOT reports. Nonetheless, traffic is backed up four miles to the bridge.

Troopers and fire crews are on the scene.

UPDATE: The crash has been cleared and the left lane reopened to traffic, DOT reports.
