A road closure in the Frederickson area means drivers heading west on 176th Street East will be impacted starting today.

While contractors replace a stormwater culvert, drivers will be detoured at 36th Avenue East to Military Road and return to 176th Street East at Waller Road East.

Eastbound traffic will not be affected.

This is the second closure for the project and a third is expected, according to Pierce County Public Works and Utilities.

The road is scheduled to reopen by Dec. 22 if weather cooperates.
