Tacoma Craft Beer Festival: Tap lists from Wingman, E9 and Puyallup River

The Tacoma Craft Beer Festival is this Saturday on the Foss Waterway – local brewers will be pouring. News Tribune file photo

Several South Sound brewers will debut new beers this Saturday at the fourth annual Tacoma Craft Beer Festival.

Tacoma’s Engine House No. 9 will have a barrel blend that E9 brewer Shane Johns described as “made up of three beers aged in a Woodinville whiskey barrel.” Wingman Brewers, also of Tacoma, will debut its new Single Hop Sauvin IPA.

South Sound brewers comprise a healthy block of about a dozen out of 57 breweries that will pour Saturday at the festival that takes place on the Foss Waterway.

Attendees pay $30 at the door for a commemorative glass and 10 tasting tokens. The event is set up roam-around style where attendees pick and choose which beers to sample from 57 booths outfitted with multiple taps. Saturday’s event raises funds for the Tacoma Historical Society. Discounts are available for designated drivers and for retired and active military members.

I checked in with South Sound brewers to see what they’ll tap. Tuesday, I told you what 7 Seas, Duo and Harmon are tapping. Today, I’ll share the tap lists of Wingman, Puyallup River Brewing and Engine House No 9. Check back tomorrow for an interview with Justin Johnson, the beer aficionado who booked this year’s brewers. Tacoma Craft Beer Festival: Tap lists from 7 Seas, Duo and Harmon

For proof that South Sound beer tastes have grown much more sophisticated than a tall boy of PBR, look to the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival Saturday on the Thea Foss Waterway. Serving at the event will be some of the most highfalutin beer the Northwest has to offer – but don’t call a brewer highfalutin. That’s just impolite.

South Sound brewers comprise a healthy block of about a dozen  out of 57 breweries that will pour at the fourth annual festival. Attendees pay $30 at the door for a commemorative glass and 10 tasting tokens (designated drivers are not included in the fee, so plan accordingly). The event is set up roam-around style where attendees pick and choose which beers to sample from 57 booths outfitted with multiple taps – a format much like the Washington Brewers Festival. Saturday’s event is a fundraiser for the Tacoma Historical Society.
