In Westgate, the restaurant will operate at the old Shari’s, 2303 N. Pearl St. Read more »

Bar breakfasts: The Swiss shifts from beer to bacon on weekend mornings

Bacon cakes at Puget Sound pizza was one of my favorite dishes eaten in a bar around the South Sound. Plenty of bars serve breakfasts worth a visit. What's your favorite? Photo by Peter Haley/Staff photographer

Bar breakfasts are one of my favorite ways to welcome my weekend and plenty of nightspots around town now offer sunrise dining on Saturdays and Sundays. Pay no attention to that sign. Yes, it says Jubilee Cupcakes, but visitors to the South Hill bakery will find an evolving pastry lineup well beyond cupcakes.

A year after opening, the bakery has slowly and quietly evolved into something more of a full dessert bakery. Jubilee aims at what Pioneer Bakery in downtown Puyallup offered before its closure earlier this month. Read more »
