Hong Ngov is branching out once again. The owner of the Thai restaurant Indochine on Pearl will open a restaurant later this summer in the Narrows neighborhood.

Construction currently is underway at 6820 Sixth Ave., in the former Java Fusion Coffee space (tip: Across the street and a block from Pao’s Donuts). There’s no set opening date, but Hong Ngov expected August would be the earliest it would open (but that date depends on permit approvals).

The restaurant will be called Fuzion Cafe with a tagline of “ “The Melting Point of Asian Flavors.” Expect the restaurant to offer Thai and Southeastern Asian specialties, as well as Chinese and Japanese, said Ngov, whose family owns (or has owned) a number of Thai and Southeast Asian restaurants throughout South Sound. Hong’s sister Ly Ngov co-owns Indochine Asian Dining Lounge in downtown Tacoma.
