This is a big entertainment weekend around the South Sound. Among the bar happenings:

Chambers Bay Grill Beer Dinner
The University Place water-view restaurant at the Chambers Bay golf course will have a beer dinner, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday March 14. The dinner, $55 per person, includes seven courses matched with beer. On the menu: Scotch egg salad with Harp lager; confit potato salad with Guinness Black Lager; fish cakes with Smithwick’s Superior Irish Ale; Irish sausage with Guinness Draught and corned beef and cabbage roll with Guinness Extra Stout. Ode to  St. Pant
Some bars celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, others celebrate pants. Patrons can drop off spare pants anytime Saturday March 15  at Tacoma’s Parkway Tavern for its annual pants drive, Ode to St. Pant. Last year, the bar donated 150 pairs of gently used pants to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. The bar is at 313 N. I St., Tacoma; 253-383-8748, facebook

Tacoma Brewing Co. Big Beer Festival
The Big Beer Fest begins at 2 p.m. Saturday March 15 at Tacoma Brewing Co. On tap: Matt’s Barleywine; Citra Kick Barleywine/Triple IPA; Simcoe Kick Triple IPA; Noble Barleywine/Triple IPA; Cascade Quad (quadruple IPA); Licorice Stout; “Wacked” Stout (Orange/chocolate; Nitro Vanilla Stout; Ashen Stout (aged on ash wood). Pierce County Firefighters Pipes and Drums St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl
Pierce County Firefighter’s Pipes and Drums will play music and raise some cash with a pub crawl in Puyallup, Gig Harbor and Tacoma Saturday March 15 and Monday March 17. For $25, participants will get a T-shirt and a shot of Heritage Distilling Co.’s Fall Classic Apple Cider Whiskey. Skip driving and take the pub bus for a fee of $75. or walk to and from participating pubs, which include Crockett’s, TK Irish Pub, The Float, Tides Tavern, Doyle’s, The Swiss, O’Malleys and Engine House No. 9. Doyle’s Public House St. Patrick’s happenings
The St. Helens neighborhood Irish pub Doyle’s Public House will have a working person’s St. Patrick’s Day party Saturday March 15. Free music begins at 8 p.m.
More celebrating happens all weekend with corned beef and hash for breakfast Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Expect revelry, music and a tent full of shenanigans all weekend at the bar.
Looking for grub? The restaurant’s menu includes corned beef, Guinness Irish stew, shepherd’s pie and bangers and mash.

TK Irish Pub and Eatery
The downtown Puyallup Irish pub will have music Friday March 14, Saturday March 15 and Monday March 17. Performers are: Whiskey Syndicate, Ben Union and DJ Triple-Nine on Friday; Groove Colony, a Flogging Molly cover band and Grinder on Saturday; and Folsom Prism and Just Dirt on Monday. The cover is $5.
