A reader inquired about the fate of Fife City Bar & Grill after seeing a sign for an auction of that restaurant’s equipment. I found a website announcement from Chef Diana Prine saying that she has closed her Fife restaurant. Below is the text of Prine’s farewell, which you also can read here. Something to note – she said she’s “excited for what lies ahead.” I hope to reach her by phone soon to find out what that is. Another restaurant in the works?  Check back for updates.

I am sorry as of September 13TH 2013 we have closed our doors. It was definitely a difficult decision but 20 years is a great run and we’re excited for what lies ahead. Thank you for making Fife City Grill your special dining destination and allowing us to be a part of your cherished events through our catering. Most of all, thank you for letting our family be a part of your family, Everyone who enjoys great food is related in some way, so until our paths cross again … Chef, Diana Prine

Prine, a Spanaway native, opened Fife City Bar and Grill in 1994.
