Some brew events for your social calendar, all happening this weekend:
Pint Defiance one-year anniversary: Help Pint Defiance celebrate its first year with a beer blowout this weekend. At 2 p.m. Saturday, Pint Defiance will tap a 7 Seas and Pint Defiance collaboration beer called “Bridge-Toll Berliner Weisse,” which Pint Defiance co-owner Barry Watson described as a sessionable sour ale. Watson, who opened the Tacoma bottle shop and taproom on Sept. 10, 2012 with wife Renee, also will tap special kegs through the weekend, beginning Friday:
-Stone 17th Anniversary IPA
-Deschutes 25th Anniversary Black Butte XXV, Imperial Barrel Aged Porter
-Boneyard Cherry Fix
-New Belgium La Folie, Barrel Aged Belgian Sour Brown
-Pelican Elemental Fresh Hop Ale (Pale Ale brewed with 500+ pounds of freshly picked hops!)
Pint Defiance is at 2049 Mildred St., Tacoma, Facebook here
Parkway Tavern Sourfest: Twenty taps, 20 sours. I’m not sure I need to write anything more than that. Get yourself to the Parkway Tavern from 2 p.m.-2 a.m. Saturday for Sourfest. Parkway Tavern is at 313 N. I St., Tacoma. Facebook here.
BEER ME: Have you found a pumpkin beer on tap or in bottle at a Tacoma-area bar or bottle shop? Let me know. I’m compiling the News Tribune’s second annual pumpkin beer list. Comment below or email me.
