When it rains, it pours. Or, more accurately, several bars and restaurants are pouring different styles of adult beverages today and tomorrow. Amocat Cafe’s Morgan Alexander is getting his brand new brewery Tacoma Brewing Co. off the ground with a tapping at his St. Helens neighborhood cafe. In other beverage happenings, 208 Garfield in Parkland has a cidery tasting and The Red Hot – Tacoma’s favorite emporium for craft beer and hot dogs – will have a Belgian fest tonight with its Coast to Coast Belgium beer tasting. Serving: Saison Dupont (6.5%ABV, traditional farmhouse saison), Cuve’e des Trolls (7%ABV, a Belgian strong pale gold), Dupont Moinette Brune (8.5%ABV, a Belgian strong dark Abbey), Scaldis Blonde Triple (10.5%ABV, a Belgian tripel).
Eats: The TRH Flemish Farmhouse Dog, an “all-beef dog in a steamed poppyseed bun topped with Saison Dupont honey mustard, fresh herbed cheese spread, and topped with a radish/scallion/chervil slaw and celery salt.”

Tacoma Brewing Company Tap Night

Cost: Price of beer. The event is all ages. Ginger soda served to kids.
Serving: Oak aged imperial stout, ginger ale, porter, doppelbock (dark German ale), and a “One Hop Wonder,” IPAs featuring a single hop – this one is “Centennial IPA.”
Coming up next: The brewery is crafting all kinds of beer for local eateries. From the brewery, “Here are some things we are working on in the laboratory: a kava stout that will make your lips tingle, a picked ginger and wasabi for a local sushi restaurant, a pomegranate porter (coming next week!), and a tiki beer made with pineapple juice and falernum for a local tiki lounge. We like working in the lab.”
