Since 2005, Patti Bostwick awoke at what is an unreasonable hour for most to make doughnuts, pastries and bread at Pioneer Bakery, which has operated as a bakery in downtown Puyallup since 1926. These are the final days for Pioneer Bakery. It closes Saturday.
Bostwick broke the news to Pioneer Bakery Facebook followers earlier this month. In an article in our sister publication, she cited health concerns as the reason for the closure.
Bostwick and daughter Alyssa operated the bakery, but every member of the family – from husband Jake to the other four children, contributed something to the bakery.
They’ll be open tomorrow. Their last day will be Saturday Sept. 1 – from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
