Beer diva and 99 Bottles co-owner Tiffany Adamowski – the first woman I email when I need any sort of beer recommendation – will have two interesting visitors and a beer tasting Sunday. John and Kate Suscovich, two bicyclists cycling the globe and raising food and beer awareness, as well as money for FarmAid, will stop at the store to talk about their travels. Click “read more” to see the details.
Here are excerpts from emails with Adamowski giving the scoop:
Earlier this year, Kate and John set out from New York City on their Surly bikes, traveling in search of good food and beer. After pedaling 3,500 miles they’ve finally reached the Pacific Northwest and are making a stop at 99 Bottles beer store for a meet-n-greet beer tasting with fellow bicycle, beer, and sustainable food enthusiasts.
As I’ve been promoting the event, the reaction has been interesting. It’s surprising how many have been following Kate & John’s travels since his farewell on Howard Stern Radio (John was a lighting technician, part of a small staff for Howard TV). But these aren’t just Stern fans, they’re people interested in living vicariously through a video travel diary, learning about organic and sustainable food, visiting eateries and breweries. It’s pretty cool to see how many of us have been following this couple across America … so many have expressed excitement to meet them in person.
