Oktoberfest celebrations are here and will continue the next few weekends.
First up is the Harmon’s Brewmaster’s dinner tonight, which will see the debut of the Stryker Stout from Harmon Brewing. Details for the event are here. Call 253-383-2739 for a last-minute reservations. The dinner only is $35.

When: 2-10 p.m. Saturday Oct. 2
What: Oktoberfest Tacoma is a nontraditional Oktoberfest featuring creative seasonal and pumpkin beers as well as locally produced ciders. Also featured will be chain-saw pumpkin carving, a pie-eating contest and pumpkin beer tappings at Amocat Cafe, The Mix and Puget Sound Pizza.
Admission: $12 in advance and $18 at the door, includes five tastings. Additional tasting tokens are $1.50. Tickets can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com or at 99 Bottles and Amocat Cafe. This is a 21-and-older event, ID required.

Seventh Annual Oktoberfest Northwest
Where: Puyallup Fairgrounds
When: Oct. 7-9.11 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday
Admission: Admission is $10 Friday-Saturday and $5 Sunday. Free admission only from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday. Children younger than 12 get in free all weekend.
What: Oktoberfest Northwest is a weekend-long celebration of German food, beer and kitschy entertainment that includes wiener dog races.
Serving: Bruno’s European Café in Parkland will be at the festival serving cabbage rolls, schweinebraten (pork roast in gravy), kassler rippchen (German smoked pork chops), goulash soup and potato pancakes. Kaleenka will serve piroshky and Ziegler’s will serve bratwurst. Many German beers also will be served.

What: Oktoberfest party with German food and beer. A German food buffet will be served and six German beers will be tapped.

What: Besides the beer, there will be bratwurst and entertainment, but leave the kids at home if you want to attend the 21-and-older event.
