Chocolate and schnitzel may make for an odd pairing, but it’s not so weird when you pair them up as festivals. The Proctor Chocolate Festival starts Wednesday and Oktoberfest Northwest starts Friday in Puyallup. Click “more” for details.
The sixth annual Oktoberfest Northwest doesn’t go light on the fried meat and meat on a bun. Take a look at these menu items:
Schnitzel: Pork or chicken schnitzel plate with warm German potato salad and hot slaw; Pork or chicken schnitzel sandwich topped with sweet and sour slaw; Wiener schnitzel
On a bun: Grilled Bratwurst or Knockwurst on a hoagie bun; Polish dogs
Portable food: Assorted piroshky
Hearty eating: Hungarian goulash, spaetzle noodles, Reuben sandwich
Sweet finish: German chocolate cake, apple strudel
