Went there for lunch yesterday. My first visit but definitely not my last.

My coworker ordered the Frikadeller off the $6 lunch special menu and loved it. I wanted to order the Frikadeller too but just as he placed his order, Kristina announced that he got the last order! Darn! My coworker had been stationed in Germany and proclaimed the food very authentic.

I have had their cabbage rolls before at the Tacoma Farmers so I ordered the kielbasa sausage off of their $6 lunch menu. It came with a cup of soup, a drink, a roll, the sausage, a large dollop of mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut.

We both chose the hangover soup. If you try nothing else, try that soup. It was very meaty and full of vegetables. A bowl would be quite a meal in itself. Very flavorful too.

We had to share a table and that made for some interesting, pleasant conversation. The downside here was that we arrived around 12:15, grabbed a seat, but did not get our food until 1:10. They were very busy. My coworker and I both agreed that we greatly enjoyed the food but think we will just call it in and take it go next time.

Just to be a bit picky here, but if you want to spell "Spätzle" with the English alphabet, the a-umlaut is transliterated to "ae" as in "spaetzle".

That aside, I'm looking forward to trying this place out.

This sounds good. My wife and I will try it this week -- maybe Monday.

I, too, have a small business that doesn't take plastic. Good for them. Plastic costs the merchant far more than it provides in terms of utility.

I can't wait to try some of those soups!

Went to Bruno's for lunch and what a treat. Luckily we arrived just after opening. The place was already full. Bruno and Kristina were just finishing unloading new supplies because everything was eaten yesterday following your review!! They were happy of course and our lunch was yummy. I had the Jaeger Schnitzel with spatzle and rot kraut. My updraft (the wind beneath my wings) had a veggie combo of the cucumbers and knoedel with jaeger gravy.
Our table partner had the goulasch and was very pleased. All in all it was very good and reminded me of small neighborhood gasthaus food anywhere in Bavaria. We are going back next weekend to see if there is any difference after the "rush" I give it a 7 on my scale of 1-10 for overall restaurants and a 5 for German/Polish fare.
