A chocolate festival and two Oktoberfests are on tap for this weekend. Someone really ought to combine those events together into one …

Click “more” to read details.

Proctor Chocolate Festival
When: Oct. 7-10 (hours and events are ongoing)
Where: Select business in the Proctor Business District
Info and schedule of events are right here
Details: All things chocolate invade the Proctor District this week. Among the events are chocolate giveaways and cupcake decorating at Knapp’s, not to mention a fondue party at Metropolitan Market (sign me up).

Northwest Oktoberfest in Puyallup
When: Oct. 9-11. 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday
Where: Puyallup Fairgrounds
Info here
Admission: $8
Details: The food list includes a lot of sausage and companion pork products. The beer looks like this: Paulaner lager, Warsteiner Oktoberfest, Warsteiner Dunkel and Snoqualmie Brewing Harvest Moon German Style Festbier (among others). Wiener races (daschunds, that is) happen on Sunday. There will be music, too.

Enumclaw Oktoberfest
When: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Oct. 9 and 10
Where: Enumclaw Exposition Center (aka King County Fairgrounds)
Info here and here
Admission: $5-$7
Details: According to this site, the Washington Beer Commission and Washington Beer Lovers (WABL) are coordinating the beer garden, “This year the Washington Beer Commission and the Washington Beer Lovers (WABL) are shaking up Oktoberfest or at least they are moving on down south. Instead of creating a stand-alone Oktoberfest, they have joined the Enumclaw Oktoberfest where they will reigning over the Oktoberfest beer garden this weekend. The Enumclaw Oktoberfest runs October 9-10 at the Enumclaw Exposition Center, formerly the King County Fairgrounds.” Looks like a wide range of beers on tap, including 7 Seas Brewing from Gig Harbor, Harmon from Tacoma and Fish from Olympia.
