My TNT colleague John Gillie reports in today’s business section that a chef is taking over David’s on Broadway, targeting an early March opening for a restaurant, billiard club and banquet facilities.
Thomas Mott said he plans a fine dining room on the building’s first floor to be called Winfield’s after his grandfather and a billiard club on the lower floor called the Twisted Cue.
The restaurant will feature higher-end food, he said, at moderate prices.
"You’ll be able to get a good steak for $16 or $17," he said. Winfield’s will serve a breakfast buffet six days a week with a larger brunch buffet on Sundays. The lunchtime menu will include burgers, sandwiches and other mid-day fare.
