Lady Gaga awes, inspires army of “little monsters” during heavily anticapted Tacoma tour stop

It was the year’s most anxiously awaited pop happening Saturday night when more than 20,000 “little monsters” converged on the Tacoma Dome to witness the spectacle of Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour.

“Little monsters” being the 24-year-old pop phenomenon’s pet name for her followers, many of which wholeheartedly embraced her message of tolerance and individuality with flamboyant, sometimes gender-bending fashion – face paint, vividly hued wigs, aluminum cans used as curlers, corsets and fishnet stockings (photo gallery here.)

Do a good deed, score Lady Gaga tickets

Virgin Mobile announced a promotion that allows local Lady Gaga fans to score tickets to her Aug. 21 show at the Tacoma Dome in return for helping with a backpack drive. The details are below, but you have to register here first.

(P.S. In an unrelated matter, check back this week and I’ll have a way for you to score some free Toby Keith tickets, too, thanks to a fan from New Mexico I chatted with recently.)

From Virgin Mobile’s announcement:

What: Backpack Drive — Collect new backpacks for homeless/underprivileged

Say, wearing fishnets and a trench coat made out of spoons.

Rankin says music will start at 9 p.m. with SPW hitting the stage around 11. Cover will be $10. Look for more details to

Q: Where’s the party? A: In your tummy

DJ Lance Rock and the weird critters from Nick Jr.’s Yo Gabba Gabba! are headed to the Tacoma Dome on Nov. 13, Live Nation announced last week. Tickets are $35 to $49 and go on sale at 10 a.m. on June 5. A dollar from each sale will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, according to last week’s announcement.

That said, the following clip makes you wonder. What kind of sicko eats his little talking veggie buddies and then acts like it’s a party? I mean, that’s twisted.
