Josh Groban headed to Seattle

Josh Groban will bring his Straight to You Tour to Seattle’s KeyArena on Aug. 27, Live Nation announced today. Tickets to see the singer – “O Holy Night,” “Believe” and other operatic, adult contemporary hits – will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with most tickets going for $52 to $92. Hear Decemberists live on NPR.org Wednesday

Portland’s Decemberists will perform material from their just released new album, “The King Is Dead,” for National Public Radio’s web site on Wednesday, EMI announced. Fans will be able to hear an hour-long performance and interview session that will be webcast from Portland’s NPR affiliate’s studios at noon, which will be viewable at www.npr.org/music/. For local fans, that will serve as warm-up to the band’s Feb. 18 appearance at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre.


The Decemberists will preview new song on ‘Conan,’ play Seattle in 2011

Portland’s Decemberists are headed back to Seattle early next year. The experimental pop-rock outfit will headline the Paramount Theatre on Feb. 18, 2011, Capitol Records announced.

Ke$ha’s tour to stop in Seattle

Seattle will get one of the first stops of Ke$ha’s Get Sleazy tour. The pop star – known for hits “Tik Tok” and “Your Love is My Drug” – will headline Showbox SoDo on Feb. 16, the day after the tour launches in Portland, Sony Music announced.

It’ll be many local fans’ first crack at seeing her. She was scheduled to open for Rihanna at Auburn’s White River Amphitheatre last summer, but that show was was canceled back in June.


Michael Franti & Spearhead to play annual Winter Warmth show

STG Presents just announced that Michael Franti & Spearhead will headline 103.7 The Mountain’s annual Winter Warmth show, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre.

Could Puyallup’s Mathias Anderle be the next Justin Bieber? (video)

Puyallup native has got a couple of singles out on Razor & Tie. He’s appeared with the likes of Justin Bieber, Soulja Boy and Rev. Run in Nick Cannon’s Nickelodeon flick “School Gyrlz.” And he’s even done some modeling. So could this guy wind up being the next teen heartthrob to come out of Hollywood (by way of South Sound)?

Time will tell. Meanwhile, I shot this interview clip backstage with Anderle about an hour before he went on at the Puyallup Fair on Sunday. You may recognize another local guy who’s been on TV in the background, despite his shorter hair. Adam Lambert review and set list

Adam Lambert wound down the U.S. leg of his GlamNation tour at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center Tuesday night, with 7,800-plus cheering on two of the hottest “American Idol” grads – also opener Allison Iraheta – since that guy from Federal Way was on the show. (Speaking of which, he’ll be at the Fair on Sunday and I’ll be posting interview audio here soon, by the way. But I digress.)
