Grammys: Taylor Swift’s off key singing, the Michael Jackson tribute

Eww! Taylor Swift is hitting some seriously sour notes there. And whose idea was it to pair her with Stevie Nicks? Not as awful as last year’s Stevie Wonder/Jonas Brothers abomination, but it’s in the same area code. Just sayin’.

Grit City Bootlegs No. 41: Matt Coughlin Band does “Thriller”

I think Revengers may have started something with that clip I posted of the band doing their best Weezer impression.

As it turns out, the Matt Coughlin Band does a pretty crazy cover of the King of Pop’s signature song, “Thriller.” But the MCB puts an Americana spin on it with some fiddle and drummer Dalton Shotwell delivering Vincent Price’s spooktastic spoken word parts. Here they are at Beyond the Bridge Cafe in Sumner.

“Michael Jackson” in concert

Michael Jackson’s fans are all rushing to their local cineplex to catch that new “This is It” flick. And as an added bonus for locals, some guy named Scorpio is headlining a couple of tribute shows, one Friday (Oct. 30) at the Cedarwood Dome in Fife, the other Halloween night at Station 56 in Tacoma.

Personally, I’d just rather see the guy break-dance (clip number 3), but judge for yourself.
