Video of Jonathan Harris at Kent Mundell memorial

KIRO-TV has posted footage of Spanaway country singer Jonathan Harris performing his song “Thanks to You I’m Free” during Tuesday’s memorial for slain Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy Kent Mundell at the Tacoma Dome. Click here for the link.

Harris tells me he originally wrote the song for a tribute held at Samurai’s Japanese Steakhouse in Spanaway for “100 wounded warriors,” soldiers who had returned from the Middle East. But “it covers anyone who is willing to put their life on the line before yours or mine,” he said. “It’s a thank you for them.”

Tributes to slain Lakewood police officers

I’ve caught wind of a couple of tributes to Mark Renninger, Ronald Owen, Tina Griswold and Greg Richards, the four Lakewood police officers who were gunned down Sunday morning.

First, Fitz from KKWF-FM (The Wolf, 100.7) is asking listeners go gather for a candlelight vigil at Lakewood town center from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday (Dec. 4), and form in the shape of a heart in honor of the Lakewood Four. Participants will gather in the Lakewood Towne Center parking lot behind Target, 5731 Main St., SE, in Lakewood.
