The trio was a big hit at Sasquatch! Festival over Memorial Day weekend. And now one of England’s hippest bands, the XX, is headed back for more Washington love. STG Presents announced a headlining gig at 8 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Paramount Theatre.

Tickets are set at $26.50 and they’ll go on sale at noon on Friday, June 11. Find more details here.

Tiny Vipers, Typhoon among acts tapped for Squeak and Squawk 2

Some of you may recall the Squeak and Squawk Festival, a Tacoma indie-rock happening that went on at the now defunct Helm Gallery and then fledgling rock room, the New Frontier Lounge, in October 2008. (I blogged about it here if you don’t.)

Honda Civic tour to feature Paramore, Tegan and Sara

Pop-punk sensation Paramore has been tapped to headline the Honda Civic Tour, organizers announced today. Canadian sister duo Tegan and Sara will add support.

Meanwhile, local fans that can’t wait that long to see Paramore can check the band out on May 12 at Seattle’s WaMu Theater has.

So what did I do? I added a couple of cuts for you to preview on the South Sound Mix Tape, that’s what. So ch-ch-check ‘em out, y’all. And if you like ‘em you can find out more about the band here.

Iglu & Hartly live from Bumbershoot (video)

Loads of bands are cool with video at this year’s Bumbershoot festival. And after nearly crashing my hard drive (guess I should actually delete some of that old Grit City Bootleg footage once in a while) I did some maintenance and finally got one of these suckers to load. This is hip-pop duo Iglu & Hartly at the Exhibition Hall.
