Foo Fighters to headline at expanded Sasquatch! in 2011

An extra day has been added to the Sasquatch! Music Festival, which will take place from May 27 to 30 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George in 2011. And Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters will headline on May 27, Live Nation announced this morning.

A special, discounted four-day festival pass will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20. However, the full festival lineup won’t be announced until Feb. Feel lucky? Find ticket details here.

Kings of Leon talk new songs, the price of fame

This week’s hot ticket is to see Nashville’s Kings of Leon at the Gorge Amphitheatre, a band that in the last few years has grown from club-headlining indie darlings to one of the hottest bands on the planet.

Van Morrison headed to the Gorge

The Belfast Cowboy, Van Morrison, will headline the Gorge Amphitheatre on Aug. 8, Live Nation announced.

Tickets to see the Irish singer-songwriter – known for karaoke classic “Brown Eyed Girl,” among other hits – will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 28. They’ll cost $50 to $200, and you’ll be able to find them here.


Kings of Leon will road test new songs on forthcoming tour

Expect to hear some fresh, new cuts when the Kings of Leon drop by the scenic Gorge Amphitheatre on July 17.

“Today is actually our last day in the studio, and we’re wrapping it up,” said singer-guitarist Caleb Followill of the Nashville band’s forthcoming album. He was taking part in a conference call with brother, Jared, and a bunch of rock writers from around the country today.

“There are times when it’s very tropical and beachy, but there’s always that dark chord in there that makes it Kings of Leon,” he said of the new material,

Uproar festival will bring Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold and more to Gorge

Rockstar Energy Drink is apparently trying to corner the market on Ozzfest-like package tours. The latest is their Uproar festival, which will bring Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Halestorm, Hellyeah, Airbourne, Hail the Villain and New Medicine to the Gorge Amphitheatre in George on Sept. 25. That’s on top of the previously announced Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, which will bring Korn, Rob Zombie and more to Auburn’s White River Amphitheatre on July 31.


John Mayer, Keith Urban to co-headline the Gorge

Pop star and recently infamous n-bomb dropper John Mayer will team up with country superstar Keith Urban for a special “CMT Crossroads” show at the Gorge in Grant County on Aug. 28, organizers announced this week. The Avett Brothers will open the show, wh.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on May 8th. Find pre-sale info here.

Before the concert, fans will be able to catch the duo on “CMT Crossroads: John Mayer and Keith Urban,” which was taped before an invitation-only audience earlier this year.

Built to Spill will open for Kings of Leon at Gorge

Kings of Leon announced Northwest alt-rock faves Built to Spill and the Features as openers for their July 17 at Grant County’s Gorge Amphitheatre. Support in other markets will be provided by the Whigs, the Stills and the Black Keys. More tour info here.


Warped tour bringing Andrew W.K., Motion City Soundtrack, more to the Gorge

Live Nation has released details for the Vans Warped Tour, which will bring Andrew W.K., Motion City Soundtrack, Sum 41, the Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, the Pretty Reckless, Pierce the Veil and an army of other bands to the Gorge Amphitheatre on August 14.

Jack Johnson headed to the Gorge this … fall?

Jack Johnson is the latest addition to the Gorge Amphitheatre’s summer lineup. Live Nation just announced that the pop-rocker – known for “Upside Down,” “If I Had Eyes” and other songs – will drop in for an 8 p.m. show on Oct. 2, an unusually late concert for the Gorge.

Tickets will go for $39 and will go on sale to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. on April 10. But Live Nation has special pre-sale details, which will allow some fans to buy tickets as soon as next Tuesday, posted here.


Newly revived Lilith Fair will include two Washington dates

The first Lilith Fair since 1999 will include two Washington stops, July 2 at the Amphitheater at Clark Count and July 3 at the Gorge Amphitheatre near George. Those stops were at the start of a tour itinerary just e-mailed to Lilith fans who registered on the festival site.

Tickets for both shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. on March 27. Prices have not yet been confirmed, but click here for a ticket link for the Vancouver show and here for the Gorge stop.
