Vancouver, BC’s 3 Inches of Blood was on the road touring in support of new CD “Here Waits They Doom” when the band’s former bassist, Tacoma’s Brian Redman, died on Sept. 27.

So 3IOB had to wait until this weekend to return to it’s home away from home (the bulk of 2007′s “Fire Up the Blades” was written in T-town) for a tribute show. The band will headline a benefit for Redman’s widow, Dana, on Saturday (Nov. 7) at Hell’s Kitchen, a bill that also includes locals Monuments Collide, the Jet City Fix and Glimpse.

For those who couldn’t be there, here’s a clip of Dirty Knockers paying tribute to their fallen band mate, the late, great Brian Redman. An army of local rockers, including Zeke, Glimpse, Top Heavy Crush, Helm’s Alee, Pioneers West, the F—ing Eagles and many more, turned out to Doyle’s Public House to see him off. Rest in peace, Brian.

Doyle’s Public House owner Russ Heaton e-mailed more details regarding Friday’s memorial show for fallen Tacoma rocker Brian Redman.

As many of you know we lost Brian in an accident this past weekend. We are holding a memorial / benefit for him this Friday. The big tent is being rolled out and over 12 bands will be playing tribute to Brian. We are asking for a $5 donation at the door. There will be a Taco Truck in the parking lot for late night eats. So many members of our community have stepped forward with generous donations to make this event possible.

Doyle’s Public House owner Russ Heaton tells me a tribute is in the works for fallen local musician Brian Redman, who local music fans knew from his stints with Tacoma’s Dirty Knockers and 3 Inches of Blood, among other projects.

Heaton said the Doyle’s event will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, with music starting at 8. The bands have not yet been finalized, but expect some sort of official announcement here.

Redman died after crashing his scooter at the intersection of N. 21st and Steele streets early Sunday morning. More details …
