Dierks Bentley explains why he went bluegrass on “Up On the Ridge” (audio)

Dierks Bentley will be the main attraction Saturday night at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center grandstand. You can expect some “What Was I Thinkin’,” some “Sideways” and maybe some “Feel That Fire” on the set list. Was going back through my Dierks Bentley interview audio, and he mentions this appearance with bluegrass legend Tim O’Brien – this being the cover of Dylan’s “Senor (Tales of Yankee Power)” as remade on for Bentley’s “Up On the Ridge” CD. Dierks Bentley headed to Puyallup Fair for concert, bike fundraiser

Dierks Bentley is the latest addition to a Puyallup Fair concert series that already included Willie Nelson, Chris Botti, Natalie Cole and ’80s hit makers Hall & Oates. Full schedule here.

Bentley – a rising star known for “What Was I Thinkin’,” “Free & Easy” and other hits – will headline the Puyallup Fair & Events Center grandstand at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, organizers announced.

Tickets for the concert by itself will be $25 to $70. But the show is also being held in conjunction with Bentley’s Music and Miles for Kids,
