Big summer concert in the works for fallen officers

I just got off the phone with local promoter Mike Mitchell who tells me he’s working on a big benefit show for the families of the Lakewood Four and slain Pierce County sheriff’s deputy Kent Mundell.

The concert is still in the early planning stages, but Mitchell said he’s looking for big national acts that can draw about 20,000 to a 400-acre farm in Orting where he plans to put on the event. Mitchell said Dan Haggerty of “Grizzly Adams” fame has agreed to be the grand marshal for a related Harley rally.

Nickelback headed to Tacoma in May

Vancouver hit makers Nickelback will headline the Tacoma Dome on May 7, organizers announced today. The show will kick off at 6:30 p.m. that day with support coming from Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown and Sick Puppies.

Tickets for what’s being dubbed the 2010 Dark Horse World Tour will go for $45 to $75, and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Jan. 16. They will be available through Live Nation.

Black Eyed Peas coming to Tacoma

The Black Eyed Peas just released the itinerary for the North American leg of their E.N.D. of the World Tour, which will wind down in the Northwest with an April 10 stop at the Tacoma Dome and and April 11 stop at Vancouver, BC’s GM Place.
