Larry the Cable Guy tickets on sale Saturday

Larry the Cable Guy will “get errrrrr done” at the Puyallup Fair this year. (OK, I know. “Get r’ done.” Total cliché at this point. “Lord, I apologize.” OK, that, too.)

The sleeveless, catch phrase spouting comedian – born Daniel Whitney – will headline the Puyallup Fair & Events Center at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 24, organizers announced. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday with prices ranging from $25 to $50.

“America’s Got Talent” scouting at Tacoma Comedy Club tonight

If you’re an aspiring comic, tonight’s the night to dust off your best bits and step up to Tacoma Comedy Club’s open mike. As local blog Exit 133 initially reported, talent scouts for NBC-TV’s “America’s Got Talent” will be on site looking for potential contestants when the laughs get started around 8 p.m.

“They called this morning,” owner Aaron Flett, aka Riggs, confirmed when I called. “They’re going to see if any of Tacoma’s Comics or Seattle Comics have talent. If you’ve always wanted to try something, now’s the time to do it.”

Todd Bridges he’s not: Former child star Marc Price details life after Skippy (audio)

As mentioned the other day, Marc Price, a.k.a. Skippy from “Family Ties,” called to tell me he’d added another show at the new Tacoma Comedy Club. He’ll headline there tonight. And while I had him on the line I had to ask him …

… so, do people still call you Skippy?

How he got into showbiz and what he’s been up to since “Family Ties.”

Tony Roberts on his growing fame, working with Jamie Foxx and … being shy? (audio)

Comedian Nate Jackson calls Tony Roberts “the funniest man in America,” and I’m not inclined to argue. I figured the guy would be huge – potentially Dave Chappelle huge – within a year or two after I first sampled his spontaneous, rapid-fire delivery on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” a few months ago. His “B—-, Where You Been” bit: Classic!

Doug Stanhope interview, pt. 2: When gigs go haywire (audio)

Here’s one more clip from the Doug Stanhope interview with the comedian talking about those nights when gigs get out of control, something he seems to revel in. Let’s hope things don’t get too crazy at Jazzbones on Friday.

Stanhope on gigs going haywire.

P.S. You can see bootleg clips of the infamous “Austin Incident” mentioned in the above clip over here. And check Friday’s GO section for a double dose of comedy with my Stanhope piece and a cover story on up-and-coming local comedian Nate Jackson and his

Doug Stanhope interview, pt. 1

So I’ve been promising Doug Stanhope clips on the Twitter feed for a few days now. But it’s taken me a bit longer than expected, partly because I’ve had more f-bombs than usual to navigate. I garbled the dirtiest parts (I know, BOOOO!) But these clips are still PG-13, FYI.

Stanhope on where his edgy style comes from.

He dashes our hopes for a Stanhope/Rogan ticket in 2012..

The comedian will headline Jazzbones on Friday where you’ll be able to hear him uncut. And he’s also the subject of a

Watch the finished Roderic video

Met Lacey comedian Nate Jackson yesterday at the Harmon Hub. While we were waiting, along with the rest of the planet, to see where LeBron James would land, he pulled up the finished Roderic video I wrote about a few weeks ago on his iPhone.

Check out Nate’s acting skills as the salty manager dude. Then see what some of this looked like before editing here.
