I’m hearing that members of Tacoma hard rock outfits Gold Teeth and Dirty Knockers – a.k.a. the late, great Brian Redman’s final band – have formed a new outfit, dubbed Man Hammer. Band member Sean Horst tells me they’ve even written three songs in their brief time together. Stay tuned.

3 Inches of Blood’s Cam Pipes recalls Brian Redman (audio)

Vancouver, BC’s 3 Inches of Blood was on the road touring in support of new CD “Here Waits They Doom” when the band’s former bassist, Tacoma’s Brian Redman, died on Sept. 27.

So 3IOB had to wait until this weekend to return to it’s home away from home (the bulk of 2007′s “Fire Up the Blades” was written in T-town) for a tribute show. The band will headline a benefit for Redman’s widow, Dana, on Saturday (Nov. 7) at Hell’s Kitchen, a bill that also includes locals Monuments Collide, the Jet City Fix and Glimpse.

Recently I caught up with 3IOB vocalist Cam Pipes who talked about how he learned the bad news. Click here to listen to some of what he had to say about Brian’s time in the band and learning about his tragic accident.

Then click the “more” button to check out a cool video CMH Pro posted from the Oct. 2 memorial show at Doyle’s.

3 Inches of Blood on Brian Redman

Just noticed that 3 Inches of Blood had posted an online statement about former band mate Brian Redman, who died early Sunday:

We are shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and former band mate Brian Redman. Brian was a outgoing and charismatic person who was great friends with most people he met. We couldn’t help but smile or laugh when he was around. He had such a likable personality but also had a knack for putting serious things into perspective.

More details for Doyle’s Brian Redman memorial

Doyle’s Public House owner Russ Heaton e-mailed more details regarding Friday’s memorial show for fallen Tacoma rocker Brian Redman.

As many of you know we lost Brian in an accident this past weekend. We are holding a memorial / benefit for him this Friday. The big tent is being rolled out and over 12 bands will be playing tribute to Brian. We are asking for a $5 donation at the door. There will be a Taco Truck in the parking lot for late night eats. So many members of our community have stepped forward with generous donations to make this event possible.

Another Brian Redman benefit set for Thursday at New Frontier

Just got confirmation from Tacoma’s New Frontier Lounge that on Thursday (Oct. 1) Zook, 12 Gauge Saint and Mico de Noche will play a memorial show for fallen Tacoma musician Brian Redman, who died in a scooter accident early Sunday morning.

The New Frontier is the last place Redman played, just hours before he died. And his band, Dirty Knockers, was originally scheduled to play Thursday night. Proceeds from the New Frontier show will help pay Redman’s funeral expenses.

This is in addition to the memorial show set for Friday
