Fergie and Luda and robots, oh my (scenes from Black Eyed Peas)

Black Eyed Peas brought the year’s biggest, slickest hip-hop tour to the Tacoma Dome Saturday night, a high-tech extravaganza that also featured rap hit-maker Ludacris and LMFAO. Here’s some of what you may have missed on the E.N.D. Tour’s second to last night (photos by Ernest Jasmin.)

LMFAO’s Redfoo with robohomie. The rap duo also had help from dancing Legos and adapted one of it’s popular set staples for the locals with “I’m in Tacoma.”

Ludacris talks “Battle of the Sexes” (interview audio)

Let’s start with the obvious. Ludacris’ hits are more about hedonism than feminism. And his Mix-A-Lot level appreciation of gluteus maximus, as expressed in smash hit “How Low,” isn’t about to get the Lilith Fair stamp of approval.

But when I caught up with Luda to talk about his upcoming tour stop in Tacoma (with Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO, info here) he talked a lot about giving women equal say on his new “Battle of the Sexes” album. Click the links below to hear what he said about …

Ludacris to star in fifth “Fast and the Furious” flick

Just got off the phone with rapper-actor Ludacris, who will open for the Black Eyed Peas when they headline the Tacoma Dome on April 10. And among the thing he said he’d be doing after the tour winds down in April is starring in “The Fast and the Furious 5,” presumably reprising his role as street race organizer Tej. “I just got the call,” he told me.

Meanwhile, Luda – born Chris Bridges – remains focused on the music, with the BEP tour and his new “Battle of the Sexes” set to drop

Grammys: Pink is captivating, Fergie has a potty mouth

Pink emerges looking angelic in a white shroud then strips down to sheer, see-through tights – rawr – for the acrobatic portion of “Glitter in the Air.” She’s over the crowd, dunked in a pool of water and spins, splashing the crowd below with Pink juice, captivating as she finishes her pretty ballad. Very dramatic and elegant, and I’m sorry I missed a chance to see that in person last year at KeyArena last.

Take the Grammy album of the year survey

The 52nd annual Grammy Awards are coming up this Sunday. But before then I thought I’d let you, the readers, weigh in. I just posted a survey over on the left hand side of the page asking your pick for album of the year. Should it be Dave Matthews? Taylor Swift? Lady Gaga? Or maybe you don’t like any of the above.

Or maybe you think its bollocks that Maxwell and Phoenix didn’t make it on the ballot. Leave write-in votes in the comments section since there’s no spot for ‘em on the survey. (Sorry, the little
