Pearl Jam announces two more Northwest dates

In case you missed out on tickets for Pearl Jam’s Sept. 21 and 22 shows at KeyArena, the band just announced two more Northwest dates. The Seattle rock titans will headline General Motors Place in Vancouver, B.C. on Sept. 25 and the Clark County Amphitheatre in Vancouver, Wash., on Sept. 26.

Pearl Jam ticket info

If you follow this blog, you know when and where Pearl Jam is playing in Seattle this fall. (If not, click here, slacker.) And Live Nation just released ticket details.


Prices are set at $68, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday (July 18.) Of course, there’s a special pre-sale for members PJ’s Ten Club, which started on Monday. Check the band’s fan site for info on signing up.

Pearl Jam to kick off world tour at KeyArena

Pearl Jam will kick off their world tour with a two-night stand at Seattle’s KeyArena on Sept. 21 and 22, the band announced today. Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 have been tapped for support.


Tickets for the Seattle shows will go on sale on July 18.


The tour will begin a day after the scheduled release of Pearl Jam’s forthcoming album, “Backspacer.” In an arrangement that echoes similar deals inked by AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses, the new disc will be retailed exclusively through Target, according to today’s press release.

Pearl Jam performed a private concert at Seattle’s Showbox late last week for a Target ad filmed by Singles director Cameron Crowe, Rolling Stone reports. More here.

Pearl Jam to be first musical guest on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien”

Conan O’Brien takes over NBC-TV’s “The Tonight Show” on June 1, and Seattle rock heroes Pearl Jam will help him celebrate the occasion. So will Will Ferrell who hopefully isn’t out promoting another horrible sports comedy coming out this year. I still want my money back from “Semi-Pro.” More details on Pearl Jam’s fan site.

Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament robbed while working on new album

Rolling Stone’s got a must-read report about an Atlanta robbery involving Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament. Click here. The band is working on its next album in Atlanta with producer Brendan O’Brien. And let’s hope Jeff’s OK and they catch the losers that robbed him before they hurt somebody else.

Pearl Jam sighting at the Knitters show

I’d hoped Eddie Vedder might show up to support his buds in X during the legendary punk outfit’s two-night stand at Showbox at the Market last year. (X’s John Doe told the crowd that Ed was sick, in case you didn’t make it.) And I kind of wondered if Pearl Jam’s mouthpiece might surface for the Knitters, X’s Americana-flavored side project, which headlined the Tractor Tavern last night. Well, this report from the show removed all doubt.

Pearl Jam to reissue deluxe edition of “Ten”


Today, Pearl Jam announced a forthcoming reissue of its smash 1991 debut, “Ten,” to be released on March 24, 2009. The reissue will include the original recording, a remastered version of the album, remixes by producer Brendan O’Brien and demo versions of “Alive,” “Once” and “Footsteps” from a long-lost cassette called “Momma-Son.”
