Forget all the head shaving, fly-by-night marriages, racy paparazzi shots and other acts of public lunacy. The pop princess has her game face back on. And her comeback tour – Circus Starring Britney Spears, featuring opening act Pussycat Dolls – will bring big-time spectacle to the Tacoma Dome beginning at 8 p.m. tonight.

For her first area tour stop since the Onyx Hotel tour five years ago (a lifetime in pop terms) fans should expect some serious "ooh ahhh" factor, with acrobats, magicians and a whole team of dancers.
Based on early reviews and published set lists, the show is divided into four acts, "Circus," "House of Fun – Anything Goes," "Freakshow/Peepshow and "Electro Circ." There will be lots of expected sexy costume changes. Appropriately enough, Brit was wearing a kinky cop getup when she walked off stage last night in Vancouver, BC, declaring, "Don’t smoke weed." (Read more here.)
As for the set list, she’s been focusing on mostly upbeat material from her newer albums, hits like "Womanizer," "Toxic" and "Me Against the Music." Granted, she dips back into the vaults for "Baby One More Time" to keep her old school fans happy. Did I just write "old school fans?" Has Britney Spears really been a commercial force for a decade? No wonder I’ve talked to so many 28-year-olds this past month who are surprisingly giddy about this show.
Anyway, I’ll be there, and so will photog Joe Barrentine. So check back for set lists, photo galleries, commentary and more. Ciao!
