Turn on the water!

Just in time for what promises to be a hot, sunny weekend, Metro Parks Tacoma is set to open its spraygrounds Saturday at nine different parks across Tacoma.

The park district’s spraygrounds — aquatic playgrounds that offer park patrons a fun respite from the heat — will open at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Park, Kandle Park, McKinley Playfield, Norpoint Park, South Park, Wapato Hills Park, Wright Park and two new park locations this year — Franklin and Titlow Parks.

Six spraygrounds in Tacoma to be kept open through Sunday

Metro Parks Tacoma is keeping six popular spraygrounds open through Sunday since the warm weather is hanging around.

In September, the spraygrounds are usually open only on the weekends.

Daily hours are from 10 a.m. until the park closes a half hour after sunset.

The remaining parks will be open daily through Sunday:

Jefferson Park, 801 N. Mason Ave.

McKinley Playfield, 4321 McKinley Ave.

Norpoint Park, 4818 Nassau Ave. N.E.

South Park, 4851 South Tacoma Way

Wapato Hills Park, 6321 S. Wapato St.

Wright Park, 501 S. I St.
