More than 500 entries submitted so far in fair’s roller coaster naming contest

The Washington State Fair has received more than 500 entries so far in a contest to name its new roller coaster, according to a fair press release.

The new ride, which debuts this fall at the annual event Sept. 6-22, is a looping inversion coaster that reaches about +5.8 gravity force. That is comparable to a Formula One racing car, the release says.

The naming contest is open through midnight May 8, and anyone 13 and older can enter. The person who coins the moniker will win two season gate passes for the Washington State Fair and two vouchers valid

Fair to debut new coaster in the fall, seeks public’s help in naming the stomach-turner

A new looping inversion coaster is set to debut at the Washington State Fair in September and the public is commissioned to come up with its moniker.

Fair organizers have launched a naming contest for the new attraction that runs through midnight May 8, according to a fair news release. Anyone 13 and older is invited to compete, and the winner will receive two season gate passes to the Washington State Fair, plus two vouchers valid for 20 rides of their choice, a prize package valued at $269.

The winner will be notified by June 17, according to the release.
