VIDEO: Fife farmers market debut and ribbon cutting

The city of Fife opened its first farmers market, which will be open every Wednesday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. until Aug. 28.

Market manager Laurel Potter said the market’s season could be extended if it is successful and weather cooperates.

Fife connects with its farming roots, debuts city’s first farmers market

Fife channeled its agricultural roots Wednesday with the debut of the city’s first farmers market.

The market will offer locally grown produce to residents who don’t have access to a major grocery store in the city limits, as well as art, activities, live music and other services.

Mayor Rob Cerqui, who is a fourth-generation vegetable farmer, said the long-awaited market will provide residents and the working population with fresh, local food options every week during the Wednesday lunch hour and also increase visibility for local businesses.
