DuPont to hold forum for police chief finalists Thursday

DuPont residents will have the chance Thursday, May 16, to meet with the finalists vying to become the next police chief for the south Pierce County city.

The community forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall, 1700 Civic Dr. Resident will be able to provide feedback on forms provided at the forum.

Final interviews will be conducted on Friday, May 17.

City administrator Dawn Masko declined to identify the names of the finalists prior to the forum.  She said there should be four finalists. Interim Police Chief Robert Sheehan, a former Tacoma police official, said he was applying for the permanent position. Mayor Michael Grayum could make a decision as early as next week.
