VIDEO: Adventuress docks in Gig Harbor before heading to Tacoma’s Foss Waterway later this week

The schooner Adventuress docked in Gig Harbor on Saturday for dockside tours and a public sail. It will sail to the Foss Waterway this week.

The ship was built in 1913 and is 133 feet long. It has a capacity of 45, and 15 crew members live on board full time. The vessel, operated by the nonprofit Sound Experience, offers day and overnight educational and environmental programs.

Adventuress travels all over the Puget Sound, from Bellingham to Olympia.

Wednesday, May 1: Dockside tours 1-3 p.m.

Saturday, May 4: Tours noon-2 p.m., public sail 3-6 p.m.

Sunday, May 5: Public sails 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-6 p.m.
