The City of Roy is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the city council.

The city is accepting applications for City Council Position 1, the Public Safety & Emergency Management position. The spot opened up following the resignation of Councilman William Llewellyn on March 8.

City Clerk-Treasurer Debbie Dearinger said the council is seeking candidates who want what’s best for the City of Roy. The council hopes to make an appointment at the council meeting following the application deadline, Dearinger said, however the city has received no applications for the vacancy.

Letters of interest for the position will be accepted until April 5. Contact the City of Roy at (253) 843-1113 or email roycityhall@cityofroywa.us with any questions, or visit the city’s website cityofroywa.us.
