The Grand Marshal of this year’s Daffodil Parade will be Harvey Felder, Tacoma Symphony Orchestra conductor, festival organizers have announced. The Community Grand Marshal will be long-time Puyallup Valley daffodil grower Neil Van Lierop.

Felder will close a career of more than 20 years with the symphony next year, and Van Lierop recently announced that he will close his farm and gift shop later this spring.

The Daffodil Festival Grand Floral Parade will be April 13. It starts in Tacoma, then moves to three other Pierce County communities.

Parade start times are:

Tacoma: 10:15 a.m.

Puyallup:  12:45 p.m.

Sumner: 2:30 p.m.

Orting: 5 p.m.

King 5 TV will broadcast coverage of the event the evening of the parade.
