Pacific Mayor Cy Sun said today that he fired his city clerk, who he brought on after he fired her predecessor in July.
“She was a new hire on (a six month) provisionary period, and our relationship just didn’t work out, so I let her go,” Sun said in a phone interview with The News Tribune. “You can call it insubordination, or whatever you want. A clerk is hard to come by, because I have to delegate a lot of power to her. We have to get a good relationship so I’m confident. It’s a great responsibility.”
The position was one of seven employees that the mayor was court ordered to fill by a Pierce County Superior Court judge in September, after the workers were fired or resigned under Sun’s tenure.
Sun said he couldn’t say when he’ll start the process of hiring another clerk.
City attorney Kenyon Luce said the first clerk the mayor fired, Jane Montgomery, settled with Pacific for $175,000 for wrongful termination, among other allegations.
The voice mail for Pacific’s city clerk this afternoon said: ”There is no person in this position as of Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.”
Sure wish such attention would be balanced. Seems like another witch hunt is a brewing.

Lets see now. The Pacific mayor fires the city clerk and is the subject of a recall.
While further down the valley, the Puyallup mayor sexually harasses the female staff, fires the city manager or bringing it to the attention of the media, and wants a public building named after himself.
Clearly Mayor Sun needs to take up residence in Puyallup and run for council. He cant be worse than the freak show that has already filed their candicacies.
