The Steilacoom Historical School District Board voted to revise its meeting schedule for the months of February, March and April 2013. The action was taken at the board’s Jan. 9 meeting in response to a recent Pierce County Ferry schedule change.

The ferry added a later Thursday evening run to Anderson Island during the non-peak season. This change will allow  Anderson Island residents – who are part of the Steilacoom district – the opportunity to attend one school board meeting a month and be able to return home that evening.

School board meetings are usually held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month during the school year. As a result of board action, the February and April meetings, to be held in the Pioneer Middle School Library in DuPont, will now be Thursday February 28 and Thursday April 25, 2013. The March meeting will move to Thursday March 28 and will be held in the Steilacoom High School library.

All meetings begin at 7 pm.
