The Pierce County Council has voted to sell a former District Court building for $1.45 million.
The Court’s Civil/Infraction division was located in the former Hosmer District Court property at 1902 96th St. S. In December 2011, those court operations were combined with District Court in the County-City Building in downtown Tacoma. The facility has been vacant since the court’s move.
KYS Investments LLC has agreed to buy the nearly 3-acre property. The council unanimously approved the sale Tuesday. Once the deal closes, money from the sale will go to the county’s general fund reserves.
To roughly quote County Executive Pat McCarty two years ago, “This is a poor piece of real estate.”
Yep, waterfront property on Lake Charlton, a private lake that few know exists. 96th & Hosmer, so not the greatest neighborhood (lots of Oskar Kobold apartments) but lakefront property.
How about mentioning that someone is getting a special deal on waterfront. Even driving by you don’t realize this if on the water.
