Bates Technical College employees and students will be out early this morning (Thursday) and Friday to help raise funds for Bates students in need during the college’s 21st annual holiday food and toy drive.
Throughout the two-day fund-raiser, fire service students will continue the annual tradition of performing push-ups for donations.
Volunteers from the college’s fire service program will light up the neighborhood around the school in downtown Tacoma with ladder and fire trucks. From 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., volunteers will canvass the area seeking donations.
Last year’s drive raised more than $10,000 and assisted 175 students.
