John Hines, a social studies teacher at Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, will match wits with 14 other educators from around the country in an upcoming teachers tournament on TV’s “Jeopardy.”
A film crew from “Jeopardy” recently filmed Hines and his students in the classroom at Todd Beamer in preparation for the show. The two-week tournament tapes Monday Oct. 1 and Tuesday Oct. 2 and will air Nov. 7 to 20.
Hines auditioned for the show in June. The winner of the competition will receive $100,000 and a spot on “Jeopardy’s” tournament of champions. The second place winner gets a minimum $50,000 and third place $25,000. And every teacher will take home a classroom edition of the popular TV game show.
