What’s in a name?
The Puyallup Fair is going to find out.
It’s in the process of changing its moniker to better reflect its position as the largest fair in the state, confirmed Karen LaFlamme, fair spokeswoman.
The new name – Washington State Fair – likely won’t be official until next year, when the trademark process is complete, LaFlamme said.
But the private non-profit that puts on the 17-day event already has started a “soft roll-out” in television and print advertisements, she said.
And the tagline “Do the Puyallup” isn’t going away. LaFlamme said it still will be part of the fair’s marketing campaigns and identity.
“It’s something that’s known and loved,” she said.
