The coalition’s next meeting is at 10 a.m. Sept. 13 at the West Pierce Fire & Rescue station located at 5000 Steilacoom Blvd. SW. The topic of the meeting is sports injury prevention and two presenters will speak about overuse and head injuries,  the importance of hydration and more.

Members will receive training, access to safety materials for distribution and participation in programs such as life jacket loaning, car seat checks, custom fitting of helmets and distribution of smoke alarms.

Safe Kids includes — but is not limited to — teachers, firefighters, police officers, medical professionals parents, youth sports coaches and lifeguards.
