The Puyallup Fair’s first-ever “Do the Puyallup Walk to Beat Breast Cancer” is Sept. 22, the final Saturday of this year’s fair.

Money raised will go to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The walk starts at 8 a.m.

The 5K route will take off from the fairgrounds, loop around Sparks Stadium and then wind through the fair. Fair admission is included in the price of registration.

Advanced registration, available until Sept. 20, is $35 for adults and $18 for children 6-18. The price goes up to $40 for adults and $23 for kids on the day of the walk.

More details are online.

Walkers can bring photos of and messages about loved ones affected by breast cancer for display, or mail them in advance to “Do the Puyallup Walk,” c/o Puyallup Fair, 110 9th Avenue SW, Puyallup, WA 98371.

The Puyallup Fair is one of the largest fairs in the world, drawing more than 1 million people over its 17-day run. This year’s fair is Sept. 7-23.
