Marty Brown to head state’s community and technical colleges

The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges has selected Marty Brown as its new executive director.

Brown is currently the director of the Office of Financial Management (OFM) and formerly served as director of legislative affairs for Gov.Chris Gregoire, legislative director and deputy chief of staff for former governor Gary Locke and secretary of the Washington State Senate.

Washington’s 34 community and technical colleges comprise the state’s largest system of higher education.

Brown is expected to assume his new role in mid-September.
