The Pierce County Library in Sumner will close July 30 to Sept. 3 while crews make repairs and upgrades.

The work will include replacing the roof and the heating and cooling system, improving ventilation in the restrooms and installing a central customer service desk, a news release said.

During that time, patrons still will be able to pick up books and other items placed on hold. The library meeting room will be open 10 a.m. 8 p.m. Mondays to Wednesdays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

The library is at 1116 Fryar Ave., Sumner.
